What This Eyewear Protects Against

Optical density six means the lens attenuates rated laser energy by a factor of one million before it reaches the eye. The 2903 lens holds that OD6 level across UV (200-460 nm), near-infrared (750-2000 nm), and the 10600 nm CO2 line.

Those bands cover a wide slice of an aesthetic laser room. A single 10600 nm CO2 beam or a stray 1064 nm Nd:YAG reflection can scar the cornea or retina permanently, and rated lenses keep that energy off the eye through the whole procedure.
